Appearance: This is a bushy, brown alga. The fronds are arranged alternately from a zig zagged stem. The gas bladders are long and thin a bit like seed pods.
Depth: lower shore.
Feeding: The Sea Oak is a producer. It is able to produce food for growth by photosynthesis.
Environment: The Sea Oak grows in lower shore pools and in the sea below the lowest height that the tide falls to.
Classification: The Sea Oak is a members of the protoctistan kingdom. It is a brown alga.
